’m so excited that you’re here, and that you recognize the value of investing professional images to capture these significant moments in your life. One of my clients recently said “Each time we look at Laura’s photos, we fall in love with the baby all over again.” That statement just perfectly encompassed why I love what I do. A beautiful image of our loved ones is more than just a visual record, it can actually bring back the way we felt in the moment it was captured, whether it was two days, two weeks, or twenty years ago.

Once you book, we’ll have a design consultation to plan your session. Depending on your preference, this can be accomplished with a phone call or over texts, or you can choose to come into the studio for an in-person meeting. We’ll chat about colors and props, and you can try on dresses from my client closet. You’ll also get to see all the types of wall art I have available, and page through my gorgeous sample albums.
On your session day, I’ll put my years of experience and knowledge to work to make everything go smoothly. You can count on an enjoyable experience and gorgeous photos!
About a week after your session, you’ll have an ordering appointment over Zoom. You’ll choose your collection, go through your images to pick favorites, plus spend your artwork credit if you choose a package that comes with one. This is also the time to add any extras you might want. Payment is due at the ordering appointment.
It generally takes me about a week after your ordering appointment to finalize the edits on your images and upload them to a gallery for you. Prints take a little longer, generally 1-2 weeks. Wall art, framing and albums can take up to 4-6 weeks. Once everything is in, I’ll be in touch for you to come back to the studio and pick up your gorgeous heirlooms!

Book your Session

You might be wondering
When should I book my newborn session?
It’s best to book while you are still pregnant. As early as the start of your second trimester is not too early! I only take a limited number of sessions per month in order to assure that the babies I commit to are able to be photographed in their first two weeks of life. When you book while still pregnant, I set a tentative session date based on your due date, then keep in touch to adjust as needed. Once baby is born I confirm the date
With that said, if your baby is already born, please go ahead and contact us. I do sometimes have last-minute openings, and I’ll do my best to get you in as soon as possible. Babies that are over two weeks old will still have gorgeous images, they just may or may not be able to do the traditional sleepy newborn posing. It very much depends on each individual baby. I will always try to get them to sleep and pose them, assuming that’s what you want, and I am often successful with older babies. If they remain awake and alert, I will do more wrapped images in bowls and buckets and with fluffy furs. I can get some stunning images with open eyes!
What should we wear?
I have a client wardrobe with gowns to fit both expecting and new moms, plus some choices for little girls up to about 4T. Or you’re welcome to wear your own clothing. I offer a complimentary design consultation, and this is part of what we talk about. I’m happy to help you plan outfits for you and your family. Also, in the days before the session, clients will often text me photos of clothing they’re considering, and I’ll weigh in on how colors and styles will coordinate and photograph.
If you’re scheduling a baby session, I have a great selection of cute outfits for babies between 3-12 months to be photographed in!
How long will the session last?
Newborn sessions can range from 2-3 hours, depending on if I'm photographing baby alone or including family and siblings.
What precautions are you taking against Covid-19?
Safety is, and has always been my top priority. As well as being skilled and experienced in safe newborn handling and posing, I am a stickler
for sanitation. We always wipe down hard surfaces and props with disinfectant, and we launder blankets, wraps and other soft props that touch baby’s skin after every session. We even have a UV sanitizing cabinet for small non-launderable props. I do only one newborn session a day. Even though my assistant and I are now both fully vaccinated against Covid-19, we are still happy to wear masks for client contact as requested.
Can I use my complimentary artwork credit for more digitals?
No. The complimentary artwork credit may only be used towards artwork - prints, wall art or albums. Why so specific? Because I believe that if I only give you digital files, I'm leaving the job half done. It makes my artist heart happy to deliver printed representation of my work that is done correctly. I want you to see true colors in print, and experience the quality that my professional labs deliver. If you truly don't want the complimentary artwork credit, you are welcome to leave it on the table. It has no cash value and may not be used towards digital images, or to discount the package in any way.
After an initial consultation, we brought our little girl in for her newborn photo session at 9 days old. Laura worked wonders with her, and was extremely patient and willing to take breaks. She created lifetime memories which we will have forever. We were extremely happy with our final product and would absolutely recommend Laura to anyone in the Houston area.
